These beautiful words of contrition come in the wake of the psalmist’s desire for vengeance and retribution against the wicked who hate God. This is real and raw. However, he then asks God to search and know his heart and his anxious thoughts.
The struggle on the battlefield of the mind is real. Our thoughts can take us to places we never believed we could go.
The answer? “Lead me in the way everlasting,” i.e., the way that pleases God. Are you experiencing anxiety and worry? If so, declare these scriptures over your life, your mind, and your situation, and receive the peace of God that transcends all comprehension. - Pastor Jimmy
