The Morning Grind ☕️ - Stop Looking to Escape
After Jesus taught the disciples about the Holy Spirit, Communion, his perpetual presence, and that he overcomes the world, he prays one of the most beautiful prayers ever recorded.
In the context of this priestly prayer, he prays that God would not take them out of the world, but that God would keep them from evil and the evil one. Some think the goal of being a Christian is going to heaven.
I’m not opposed to this thought as it gives us hope for our future. However, Jesus designated us to be salt and light: to preserve and to shine. We must do our part to redeem our broken world, not look to escape it. - Pastor Jimmy
