Paul ends his first letter to the Christians in Corinth with a simple yet profound encouragement: Stand firm. Don’t be moved. Give yourselves fully to the Lord’s work.
There is nothing trite or simplistic about this charge. Like the line from the Declaration of Independence, “We pledge our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor.” It conveys that we are to give our all to Him and for His glory.
This serves as a clear call for every Christian to live their lives to please and honor God on every level. Anything less is akin to playing at religion. Today’s verse reminds us to go all in with Him. - Pastor Jimmy
