I often hear people say, “Brother, we have to be nice, the Bible says we are to speak the truth in love.” That precipitates a question from me.
“Do you know that the primary preposition translated “in” is also translated “because?” This is when I get the deer in the headlights look.
It also reads, “Speaking the truth because we love...” This changes the sentence from simply being nice to telling the truth because I love you.
Because I love, I must to speak the truth, even if it’s not what you or our culture wants to hear. Be bold and courageous because of love. - PJ
