Paul wrote a letter of encouragement to the believers in Thessalonica to be courageous in persecution, live a holy life, and to receive hope regarding the return of Jesus.
At one point, Paul instructs the believers to encourage one another “as in fact you are doing.” He is saying, “Stay the course,” i.e. “Keep doing what you’re doing.”
The word encourage means “to inspire courage.” We are to be both givers and receivers of courage. When you give it away, it comes back to you. Endeavor to be a dispenser of courage today. -Pastor Jimmy
