Silent Saturday Holy Week April 8, 2023
On Saturday, silence fell on the hearts of many. Jesus’ body was placed in a sealed tomb with Roman guards keeping watch. Grief rolled in like a Texas thunderstorm. In a borrowed tomb lay the only hope for the world.
Silent Saturday? Maybe to those who were watching the grave, but not to Heaven and Hell. One can only imagine the exclamation point anticipation in Heaven and the question mark buzz in Hell.
For legions, Silent Saturday was anything but silent.
Friday and Sunday, the crucifixion and the resurrection, tend to the get the most press. Saturday may be silent, but Sunday’s coming. - Pastor Jimmy
