On the heels of extending grace to a woman caught in adultery, Jesus was barraged with questions from the scribes and Pharisees. They wanted to kill her for her sin, but Jesus forgave and redeemed her in the moment.
In that heated context with the Pharisees, Jesus made a bold and poignant statement: “He who belongs to God hears what God says.” I realized as a young believer that God is always speaking, but I was not always listening.
As I got to know God’s Word better, I could hear His voice more clearly. He has always spoken to me primarily through His Word and secondarily through the Church, circumstances, and in my own heart. Get to know His Word, and you will come to recognize His voice. - Pastor Jimmy
