Peace Above and Beyond

The setting was The Last Supper. Jesus and His disciples were gathered around the table, and Jesus was giving them a litany of final words and teachings before His betrayal and ultimate act of love.
After introducing the person and work of the Holy Spirit, He speaks of a peace that is not like the world’s peace, but a peace that Paul later describes as transcendent and beyond all comprehension (Phil 4:7). His peace is your peace.
As you engage a new year, know that challenges and opportunities will arise. Some will be thrilling, and others will be difficult. However, when you meet what comes your way with His peace, it will produce fruit that will last (John 15:16).
