It Rung My Bell

It's hard to move forward when you're always looking back. When I was a middle-schooler, I was walking home and I heard a girl call my name. I turned to look and walked straight into a stop sign pole, ringing my bell.
I was embarrassed, and my parting gift was a black eye as a reminder of my moment of glory. I learned the hard way to keep looking ahead if I wanted to keep moving forward unhindered.
God wanted to encourage His people who were in captivity to keep their eyes trained in front of them and not long for the past. His assurance? "See, I am doing a new thing!" His promise still holds. - Pastor Jimmy
