You are moved when you see them on a street corner with a cardboard sign. Your heart aches when you observe devastating images from a natural disaster. You get a knot in your stomach when you hear of a friend’s terminal diagnosis.
Why? Because you are an image bearer of God on the earth. You feel what He feels and you hurt when He hurts. In Latin it is the “Imago Dei,” Image of God. It is a believer’s greatest honor to bear His image.
As you embrace this day, step into it knowing that you are His image bearer and when you show up, He shows up, and when you love others, He is loving others. You are “co-operating” with Him to leak His love, light, and life upon every person you meet. - Jimmy
