God had worked a great miracle through Peter and John, and all they did was answer the questions. Their answers did not fit the preferred narrative of those in power in their culture. So they were threatened and commanded not to speak or teach in the name of Jesus. It was a viable threat.
Their response was to hold a prayer meeting where they beseeched God for power to declare the message with great boldness. In these days of uncertainty and darkness, we must speak the message with boldness, confidence, and clarity.
There will be threats and resistance. There has always been opposition to announcing there is a Higher Authority than ourselves. The idea of Lordship, even in many churches, has been lost or neglected. May God enable us, in this hour, to speak the word with great boldness. - Pastor Jimmy
